The Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences (CEPLAS) is a joint initiative of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU), University of Cologne (UoC), Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research Cologne (MPIPZ) and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ). In CEPLAS scientists are developing innovative strategies for sustainable plant production and the promotion of early career researchers.

Programs

CEPLAS aims to promote innovative training programs for young scientists besides excellent research . CEPLAS offers first-class training and study programs to students, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to prepare the next generation of plant scientists and bioinformaticians.

The comprehensive training programs  focus on classical trainings courses (e.g. classical biology courses, transferable skills etc.) and strongly on scientific training in quantitative biology, synthetic biology and computational approaches.
