The 64th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists

In 2023, the 64th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (Sendai Annual Meeting) will be held as an in-person meeting. The previous three meetings, in Osaka, Matsue, and Tsukuba, could not be held in person, so if it is held as planned, it will be the first in-person annual meeting for four years. The pandemic has restricted many activities, including research. On the other hand, there has been a by-product in the dramatic development of online communication tools. The success of the Matsue and Tsukuba Annual Meetings, which were held online, showed us a new direction for the Annual Meetings. The Sendai Annual Meeting will therefore be a hybrid meeting that can also be attended online, with the aim of ensuring that “no one is left behind”.
