Konzo: forgotten but not gone – Introducing the International Working Group for safe cassava
September 5 @ 15:00 - 16:00
Join us for an enlightening webinar titled “Konzo: Forgotten but Not Gone,” where we will introduce the International Working Group for Safe Cassava.
In this session, Prof Ros Gleadow from Monash University (Australia) will interview Dr Julie Cliff of the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Mozambique, a leading expert on Konzo—a neurological disease linked to the consumption of improperly processed cassava.
Alongside the interview, Prof Ros Gleadow will also provide a brief presentation on the group’s efforts to ensure cassava safety worldwide. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about a critical, yet often overlooked, global health issue.
The webinar is the first in a series we hope will fill the gap left by the CCDN (Cyanide in Cassava Disease Network) news which is no longer published.
Date: 5th September 2024
