Ertao Wang is a professor studying plant-microbe symbioses at the CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese
Academy of Sciences. His research focus on the genetics, biochemistry and cell biology of arbuscular mycorrhizal association and rhizobial symbiosis that can help to achieve higher crop yields with less usage of fertilizers. Recently his group started to carry out plant microbiome projects trying to develop combined strategies to increase plant nutrient using efficiency and control soil borne microbe diseases, with the aim of boosting the food supply for future generations.
Ertao is currently the secretary general for the Shanghai Society for Plant Biology.
