SUMMARY:New Phytologist next generation scientists 2023
DESCRIPTION:New Phytologist next generation scientists 2023 will take place on 2–5 July 2023 at the National University of Singapore. \nNew Phytologist next generation scientists meetings are fully funded events with the unique aim to provide the next generation of plant scientists a chance to share their work with their peers and outstanding international scientists in a stimulating\, supportive and exciting environment. \nThe organising committee\, led by New Phytologist Advisor On Sun Lau\, will consist of early career researchers from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. \nThis event is exclusively for early career researchers\, including students and any researcher with up to five years’ experience since gaining/defending their PhD\, excluding career breaks. \nApplicants to attend will need to provide: \n\na poster abstract – following the poster abstract guidelines.\na personal statement of 200 words addressing why you want to attend the next generation scientists symposium.\na curriculum vitae\, which should include your education details\, including the date that you obtained your PhD\, if applicable\, publication history\, presentations given\, and awards. Please detail any career breaks if relevant.\na letter of recommendation/reference (up to 500 words) from a scientist who has agreed to support your application\, usually your group leader or someone who knows your work well.\n\nSuccessful applicants will receive free registration. Delegates attending from outside of Singapore will receive three nights of accommodation in student halls of residence at the National University of Singapore\, as well as a travel grant to support their travel to the event. \nMore info here:  https://www.newphytologist.org/nextgenevents/2023

SUMMARY:3rd PhD Meeting in Plant Science
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd PhD Meeting in Plant Science (3PMPS) is an international meeting for PhD students and young postdocs that will be held in Braga (Portugal) on the 9th of July as a satellite activity of the XXV Meeting of the Spanish Society of Plant Biology / XVIII Spanish Portuguese Congress of Plant Biology (PB2023). \nThe 3PMPS is a biennial meeting organized by Portuguese and Spanish PhD students\, with the main purpose of giving young researchers the opportunity to present their work and to create networks with other researchers in the same field of study. \nThis meeting is ideal for young plant researchers to present and discuss their scientific results in a relaxed environment. We believe this will lead to greater interaction and exchange of ideas between young investigators from different countries.‍ \nSelected PhD students and young postdocs are invited to give oral presentations\, flash talks\, or poster presentations during the meeting. All abstracts will be reviewed by a Scientific Committee (made up of early-career researchers)\, which will select oral presentations with the help of a senior Advisory Committee.

SUMMARY:Iberian Plant Biology 2023
DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues and students\, \nOn behalf of the Portuguese and Spanish Societies of Plant Biology\, we are glad to invite you to join the Plant Biology 2023 (PB2023) congress that will take place in Braga on 9-12 July. The congress will be guided by the motto – The future starts now! \nPB2023 will focus on the preservation of a sustainable word for the future. Topics will cover diverse fields from the adaptation of plants to biotic and abiotic stresses\, molecular mechanisms that control plant development and function\, to plant biotechnology and sustainable crop production. \nIn a satellite meeting (3rd PhD Meeting in Plant Science)\, PhD students will have the opportunity to interact\, present and discuss their work. Furthermore\, a special session – Teaching for Innovation – will be held to accommodate advances in teaching and learning methodologies in Plant Biology. \nWe look forward to seeing you in the beautiful city of Braga that combines history and cultural heritage\, with youth and vitality! We are sure that this in person congress will promote fruitful discussions about the latest scientific updates in Plant Science. \nWarmest regards\,\n‍\nTeresa Lino Neto\nPresident of the Local Organizing Committee

SUMMARY:2023 IS-MPMI Congress
DESCRIPTION:Protecting Our Planet Through Plant-Microbe Research\nThe 19th Congress of IS-MPMI will feature major advances in our understanding of plant-microbe interactions that will help us develop more resilient crops. The twin threats of climate change and political conflict have brought into sharp focus the need to improve the resilience of local crop production systems. \nThe 2023 Congress will start off with a special session focused on emerging threats to crop production in Bangladesh\, East Africa\, and Brazil and show ways MPMI research is addressing these challenges. The plenary program will then cover major advances made over the last four years in our understanding of molecular plant-microbe interactions\, spanning from the structural biology of plant immune receptors to how healthy plant microbiomes are established and maintained\, and everything in between. \nWebsite: https://www.ismpmi.org/Events/2023Congress/Pages/default.aspx
